Why PCOD Causes Irregular Periods
In PCOD, hormonal imbalances disrupt the normal menstrual cycle. The ovaries do not release eggs regularly, leading to infrequent (oligomenorrhea) or absent (amenorrhea) periods.
Without regular ovulation, the uterine lining builds up without being shed, which can increase the risk of endometrial hyperplasia over time.
