What is Candidiasis?

Yeast infection (candidiasis) is caused by the overgrowth of Candida fungus in the vagina. It's very common and affects many women at some point in their lives.

Symptoms

  • • Intense itching and burning
  • • Redness and swelling of the vulva
  • • Pain during intercourse or urination

Treatment

Antifungal medications are highly effective. Options include oral fluconazole tablets or vaginal creams/suppositories. Most infections clear within 3-7 days.
