HPV Vaccination Recommendations
The HPV vaccine is recommended for everyone through age 26, and for some adults up to age 45. Vaccination is most effective when given before exposure to the virus, which is why early adolescence is the ideal time.
Recommendations by Age Group
Ages 9-14: Routine Vaccination
This is the ideal time for HPV vaccination. The immune response is strongest at this age, and vaccination before sexual activity provides maximum protection.

Ages 15-26: Catch-Up Vaccination

Who Else Should Get the Vaccine?
Boys and Men
HPV vaccination is recommended for males ages 9-26 to prevent genital warts and HPV-related cancers (anal, penile, throat).
Immunocompromised Individuals
People with weakened immune systems (HIV, transplant, autoimmune conditions) should receive 3 doses regardless of age at first dose.
Men Who Have Sex with Men (MSM)
MSM are at higher risk for HPV-related anal cancer and should be vaccinated through age 26 at minimum.
Pregnant Women
HPV vaccine is not recommended during pregnancy. If you discover pregnancy after starting the series, delay remaining doses until after delivery.
Who Should NOT Get the Vaccine?
